Underfloor heating is the perfect system to heat your home. It is not only space saving and warming underfoot, it is also energy efficient and has flexible controlling through zoning in your home.
One of the main benefits is how it fells. Heat gently rises upwards from the floor eliminating cold spots and draughts. It also has no exposed hot edges which makes it a safe option for the young and elderly.
– In-ground underfloor heating with no build up height. A virtually dustless application using a floor grinder which creates grooves in to the screed which the pipes are then laid in to. This can then be tiled on or a self levelling latex can be used with your desired floor coverings.
– Electric underfloor heating is a great option for a small tiled bathroom, wet room or kitchen. It is low cost and simple to install in one single room. However, we would only recommend this as a last option or if incorporated with solar panels as it is a lot more uneconomical to run.
– In screed applications, these can either be a casolated plate system or a clip rail system which are the most common forms of underfloor heating. This type of installation is predominately for new properties due to the underfloor heating having to be installed during the build programme and before the floor screed is poured. It works at a low temperature which uses less energy and is around 25% more efficient than radiators and even more so when used with a Heat Pump.
– Along with the in ground underfloor heating, another option for a retrofit underfloor heating system would be a Minitech system which uses a plate application with 10mm pipe and a central manifold, a self levelling compound can then be poured directly on this meaning only a 15mm alteration in your current floor height. This is the lowest profile system on the market. As this is directly under your floor covering and has not got a screed to warm, it reacts more like a radiator system and heats up to 60% quicker than a traditional underfloor heating system.
