Extracting renewable energy from the ground is the most efficient and reliable source of energy. A Ground Source Heat Pump system uses natural heat from the ground by pumping heat transfer fluid through it in pipes. These are laid underground, either in horizontal trenches around 1.5-2 metres deep or in vertical boreholes which would need to be 60-100 metres deep. The heat pump technology then increases the temperature and the heat is used to provide heating or hot water.
They are ideal for new homes or large scale renovations but are not suited to small gardens. Their installation requires a good amount of land area and although expensive to install, a Ground Source Heat Pump will significantly reduce your carbon footprint and reduces the cost of your energy in the long run.
Ground Source are powered by 80% renewable energy and 20% electricity and can provide you with heating, cooling and hot water.
For every 1KW of electricity used, Ground Source Heat Pumps produce around 4KW of usable heat energy which is an efficiency of 400%.
Ground Source Heat pumps are long-lasting. Due to technological developments the newer units can last around 20-25 years before a replacement is needed.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK Government initiative that helps homeowners in England and Wales switch from fossil fuel heating to low-carbon systems.
As a Microgeneration Certified Scheme (MCS) business we can apply for £7,500 financial support towards the cost of the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) and £2,500 towards Air to Air (Air-conditioning) providing the criteria is met.
