34 Sustainable Homes and New Sports Pavilion for the village.

This thoughtfully designed development in a thriving Somerset village delivers 34 energy-efficient homes, each equipped with a Daikin Altherma heat pump system. Underfloor heating is used downstairs, with compact radiators and towel rails on separate control zones upstairs for year-round flexibility. Homes also feature Daikin hot water cylinders sized to suit property layouts. Developed by Otter Construct in partnership with Otter South West and Daikin, the project includes a mix of open market and affordable housing.

For the ground’s new pavilion, Otter South West installed a 16-class Daikin Altherma 3 Low Temperature H-Split with R32 Bluevolution technology. The high capacity outdoor unit is capable of producing leaving water temperatures up to 60 degrees centrigrade and operates in ambient temperatures down to -28 degrees centrigrade.

The Daikin Hydrobox indoors serves a 14-zone underfloor heating system and two 300-litre hot water cylinders. These supply eight showers – in the home, away and referees’ room – as well as disabled facilities and a kitchen.

This low temperature system ensures a plentiful supply of self-sanitised low cost hot water – with minimal environmental impact.
